 Great fun

This little car is a gas! It moves at quite a quick speed and never stops. You cannot leave the magnesium strip in the battery once not in use as it quickly corrodes. More strips are needed if the car is to have lasting value. It also needs a track as it cannot turn unless it touches something at it’s side. The accompanying booklet should also include some of the chemistry that is happening for general information. This will increase it’s educational value, otherwise it is just a toy.

 Really revs the first time; put-put after that

The first time you add the salt solution this little car really revs up and speeds around the house. Once the fuel is used, the contacts and the plates need to be thoroughly cleaned to get it to work again, but still it is not as speedy as the first time. I suspect you need to put in a new plate which is included in the kit. Thereafter, the plates are about for a pack of 3. So very good for a one time demonstration. Not a toy. Still, a neat little car at a low price. I lukewarmly recommend it.

 Too fragile and didn’t work

First, my husband built this with my son (8) and it would not budge. Then, I went back and thought we would make sure to sand off the burrs and reduce any friction. I gently disassembled the car. They only provide one sheet of nonwoven fabric and so I had to reuse it on second try. Sanded off all the burrs. In process of gentle reassembly, the wires broke off the drive shaft. Far too fragile. Way overpriced and extremely disappointed. I will try to return, but my husband discarded the original packaging.
